Representation of social harms in the press withan emphasis on solution-oriented journalism
This article discusses how to represent social harms on the events page of the two newspapers; Keyhan and Iran, with an emphasis on solution-oriented journalism. In this article, the events page of Keyhan as a critical newspaper of the government and Iran as a government newspaper have been examined and analyzed. This article seeks to answer the question of "how these two newspapers covered the news of social harms in the pages of their events". Is it possible for journalism to identify and reduce social harms at the community level? All content published on the events page of the two newspapers is a unit of analysis and sampling method, content analysis and in-depth interview. Sampling method in content analysis is classified method. The statistical population of the study, 48 issues of these two newspapers, 6 issues of each was used randomly and in an in-depth interview, the snowball method was used. According to the coding instructions, the coding variables and the results were analyzed by SPSS software version 24, analysis and data based on descriptive and inferential statistics. The research findings suggest that media work begins where one can understand the problem, fulfill one's mission in each area in which it operates, and provide the community with Prudence, looking for solution and remedy for. Whereas the media is the link between the people and the authorities, the solutions proposed by the experts can help the authorities to move faster on the path of development.
