The purpose of this study was to explain the methodology of discovering the meaning of depression in the Holy Quran.

The reference text is the Holy Quran, which is a divine word that has its own characteristics in understanding and discovering meaning, and the methods of contemplation in the verses of the Quran have special principles and rules, which can be explained in the form of content analysis methods. . Explaining the problem of depression and its components, examining the words of the Qurchr('39')an and selecting words corresponding to the components in terms of introduction, necessity or result of meaning, examining words in verses and chapters, extracting the definition of words in the chapter and finally drawing the structure of depression based on human structure in the Qurchr('39')an It is the stages during which the meaning of depression and its types and related rules were obtained from the perspective of the Qurchr('39')an.

In this study, after a series of steps, 14 words were selected as words of depression in the Qurchr('39')an and then studied in 6 chapters. Vocabulary was a bridge to understanding the new definition of depression, its roots and causal factors, and the types of depression based on the Qurchr('39')an. Hidden and overt depression, types and degrees of depression, severity and weakness of depression based on roots and variety of depression based on emergence contexts were among the important findings of this study.
