The Effect of Honey on Women's Reproductive Health: Narrative Review

 Women health has a vast meaning and it is constituted of physical, mental, social, cultural, and moral health. It is also affected by social, political, economic, and biological factors. This study investigates the influence of honey on womenchr('39')s reproductive health because these days the traditional medicine, nutrition therapy, and the use of functional foods are important in taking care of our health and in disease prevention and cure, and because that women health is so important.

 This paper is a narrative review article researching the effects of honey on womenchr('39')s reproductive health in related English and Persian articles published between the years of 2005 to 2020.  For gain these articles I searched the Cochran , Embase, Pubmed , Medline , Sid , Medlib ، Scopus, ISI, Google Scholar. Through a comprehensive search and according to the inclusion criteria, a total of 76 articles were found, which by removing duplicate and overlapping articles in databases, in the first stage, 25 articles remained, and finally, after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 13 articles were studied.

 The articles show that honey is effective in improvement of Cesarean section wound and Episiotomy, reduction the intensity of early Dysmenorrhea, decrease the amount of bleeding, the duration of menstruation, and the distance between two successive menstruation; also, in nausea, vomiting, headache, and other menstruation pains. It is also effective in parturition progress and vaginal candidiasis cure.

 Honey can be a complimentary medicine for prevention and cure of a lot of disease related to women whether alone or along with other related medicines.
