A review of the correlation between anxiety and the prevalence of Covid 19

Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that cause a variety of ailments ranging from the common cold to acute and severe respiratory syndrome. The emergence of Covid 19 has many psychological effects, one of which is anxiety and has physical and psychological effects. However, most studies have focused only on clinical data. The virus has now spread to all countries and has become an epidemic, rapidly endangering mental and physical health. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to investigate the correlation between anxiety and the prevalence of Covid 19.
In this review article, the psychological effects of COVID-19 and its relationship with anxiety were investigated. Accordingly, using electronic resources in reputable databases of PubMedScopus, SID, Google Scholar, Science Direct, indexed articles were obtained from 114 articles, 35 articles were evaluated and 13 articles entered the secondary screening stage.
The present study showed that COVID-19 has psychological problems other than mortality. Studies in other parts of the world have shown that COVID-19 has several psychological effects, including increased anxiety.
Due to its unknown nature, it causes anxiety in affected individuals and other members of the community. With increasing prevalence of COVID-19 and its limitations, the level of anxiety also increases. Therefore, increasing public awareness of this disease and presenting positive psychological programs in the media aimed at controlling stress can reduce anxiety in society.
