A Content Analysis of the Eminence of Soft Power Sources in the the Islamic Republic of Iran’s 20-Year Vision Document

An important source of perceiving soft power sources of the countries involves the upstream documents of the political system a precise review of which can effective in explaining the sources of soft power. This research is intended to investigate the sources of soft power of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the upstream documents, specially the 20-year vision document. Employing descriptive method and quantitative content analysis, this study aims at finding out the most prominent sources of soft power in the 20-year vision document of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the components it contains. The findings of the research illustrates that the political, economic, cultural and scientific resources for the production of soft power of the Islamic Republic of Iran are present in the document to achieve the planned vision. The cultural components, containing 38.77 percent frequency stands out as the most prominent component among which spirituality and religious values ​​are most highly related to soft power of Iranian society on the horizon of 1404. Political resources with a frequency of 26.53 percent, economic resources with 22.44 and scientific resources with 12.24% frequency percentage are occupy the next ranks. Among soft power sources of the vision document, spirituality (54.34), national production (19.56), adherence to the political system (15.21) and knowledge and technology (10.86) gained the highest frequency. They can increase the soft power of Iranian society on the horizon of 1404.
