Evaluation of marital satisfaction in women referring to Hamadan health centersRunning

Marital satisfaction is a state in which a couple feels happy and satisfied with their marriage and being together. The aim of this study was to evaluate the level of marital satisfaction in women referring to Hamadan health centers.

The present study is a descriptive-analytical cross-sectional study that was performed on 380 women referring to health centers in Hamadan. The selection of health centers was clustered randomly so that from four geographical areas, four centers were selected from each region. Data collection tools were demographic and Enrich questionnaire. The linear regression model was used and the significance level was considered P <0.05.

The mean age of women in this study was 33.6± 3.4 and the mean age of their husbands was 38.8± 4.4. The mean duration of marriage was 8.9 ± 3.3. According to the results of linear regression model, the score of marital satisfaction had a direct and significant relationship with the duration of marriage, but there was no significant relationship between marital satisfaction and spouse age, wife age, occupation, infertility history, education, number of children.

The results of the present study showed that the rate of marital satisfaction in women in Hamadan is in the average range and the component of increasing the duration of marriage was one of the factors that played a role in improving marital satisfaction of women.
