Treatment strategies for narcissistic disorder Based on cognitive-behavioral approach and Islamic teachings

Narcissistic personality disorder is a pervasive pattern of secretary in thought and behavior that is associated with feelings of need for admiration and lack of empathy. This pattern starts at an early age and appears in various fields. The aim of this study is to provide narcissistic treatment strategies based on cognitive-behavioral approach and Islamic teachings. The method of this research was qualitative and content analysis. First, studies related to narcissistic disorder in Islamic texts and psychology were collected. For this purpose, articles and dissertations were searched and analyzed in the Iran Dock and Noormags databases from 2011 to 2021, as well as related materials in the Jame Al-Ahadith and Jame Al-Tafsir software. In the first stage, 82 characteristics related to narcissistic disorder were collected. The analysis of traits, their integration and classification, showed that all traits are classified into two categories: "narcissistic attitudes" and "narcissistic behaviors". Also, the analysis of religious texts on the treatment strategies of narcissistic disorder indicated that 23 cognitive-behavioral strategies can facilitate the treatment of this disorder. The content validity report of the solutions based on the experts' opinion confirmed all items.
