Presenting a model of sustainable urban regeneration in historical contexts with an integrated approach (Case study: Darvazeh Rey neighborhood and Qom Bazaar area)

In this research, an attempt has been made to provide a model for the sustainable recreation of the historical context of Darvazeh Rey and Qom Bazaar neighborhoods with an integrated approach. The purpose of this study is to identify indicators to achieve a suitable and efficient sustainable regeneration model in order to promote social status and economic functions in the target areas. Since the historical context of Qom has valuable historical elements, high tourism capacity and a history of important social, cultural-religious and economic activities, it is necessary to pay attention to these contexts as one of the important components of the city.

The research method is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-analytical in terms of method. The statistical population of the study was specialists and experts active in the field of urban regeneration in Qom urban management system and residents of historical neighborhoods of Darvazeh Rey and Qom Bazaar. The sample size was selected as 50 people, of which 10 were experts and 40 were residents of the target areas. The method of determining the sample size was sufficient number of samples and saturation of the interviewees. The data analysis method was using content analysis and category coding as well as SWOT analysis.

The research findings showed that sustainable regeneration has four dimensions including social, economic, physical and environmental dimensions. Because these dimensions are interrelated, they all need to be looked at together. To this end, sustainable regeneration through integrated and comprehensive action can be more effective steps to regenerate and regenerate worn-out tissues.
