Evaluation of Total Productive Management (TPM) in The Shipping Industry

The maritime industry is trying to use an appropriate maintenance management strategy (NET) to reduce breakdowns and malfunctions of expensive and sometimes scarce machinery and equipment. Therefore, the aim of the present study is to evaluate the 8 poles of inclusive productivity as a comprehensive approach to net management in Negin Taj Sahel Arvand Shipping Company. Data was collected using questionnaires and its content validity was confirmed by the company’s experts and supervisors. The reliability was confirmed by Cronbach's alpha. The statistical population of this applied research is 40 managers, supervisors and employees of operational and administrative fields related to each of the Total Productive Management (TPM) variables in Negin Taj Sahel Arvand Shipping Company, who were subjectively selected and a questionnaire is given to each person. 25 usable questionnaires were received and descriptive statistics, gap analysis and IPA method in SPSS 23 and Excel 2016 were used to analyze the data. The results of this study, in addition to expressing the gap between the current and desired status of all indicators (questionnaire items) and variables and also the strategy of IPA analysis, prioritize the improvement of all indicators in detail and prioritize the eight main poles (variables) of the research.
