A Survey and Typological analysis of pottery in the Andajin site of The Hamedan plain in Seljuk and Ilkhanid periods
especially in the Islamic period, has led to the emergence of numerous cultures of pottery in this part of the country. Andajin site is one of the most significant Islamic sites in the Hamedan-Bahar plain, whose peak of prosperity and prosperity, according to the surviving evidence, belongs to the Seljuk and Ilkhanid periods. Considering the influence of Hamedan pottery cultures and consequently Andajin site from large areas of Islamic pottery production, the questions of this research are as follows: What are the most important types of pottery in Andajin Islamic site in Seljuk and Ilkhanid periods? And which type of pottery in this area has local and indigenous characteristics? The main purpose of this paper is to identify the types of pottery species in the study area. This process has been done by studying archaeological data obtained from new studies. In the present study, the method of descriptive-analytical research and data collection in the form of documents and field matching of the findings of this field with other regions has been done. The results show that more than 10 types of pottery of the fifth to eighth centuries AH have been identified. These include a variety of unglazed and glazed pottery similar to the pottery centers of western Iran, each of which can be divided into simple and patterned and multicolored sub-glazed and glazed subsets. In the meantime, specimens such as dishes decorated with multicolors on white roses are likely to have local characteristics
