Abstract:

. This is because of the financial constraints and limited knowledge we humans have. Mahmoudabad city safety against hazards and its resilience is one of the goals of urban planning and in this regard, the first step is to know the resilience of the city against hazards. This study was conducted with the aim of increasing resilience and preventing flood damage in the urban area of Mahmudabad. The method of the present study is in terms of the purpose of research and development and in terms of descriptive-analytical and field nature. The statistical population in this study includes all experts of Mahmudabad municipality and specialists in the field of urban issues, environment, crisis management and urban planning, of which the sample size was 80 people who were selected from the statistical population in a non-randomized method. Have been. The method of collecting library and field information and its most important tools were sheets, tables, charts and questionnaires. Data analysis was performed by descriptive statistics and inferential statistics (Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and one-sample t-test) using SPSS software. Findings have shown that the infrastructure-physical resilience variable with a coefficient of 0.570 in the first priority, the economic resilience variable with a coefficient of 0.169 in the second priority and the variables of social resilience and institutional resilience, respectively. With coefficients of 0.083 and 0.081, it has been placed in the next priorities. Also, the results of the research showed that the resilience of Mahmudabad city is suitable against floods. Also, there is a positive and significant relationship between the dimensions of urban resilience (social, institutional, economic, infrastructure) with the component of urban flood management. Urban resilience has a positive and significant effect on preventing human and financial damage caused by floods in the study area.
