Nowadays economic security, as one of the dimensions of national security, enjoys great importance, so that the effects of having economic power are considered in line with the military power. Therefore, special attention to economic security is necessary and this kind of security can be brought up in both normal and national levels which the latter is related to the national security category. In the Iran constitution, the Supreme National Security Council, as the supreme authority of decision making is considered as one of the most important pillars of decision making. In this regard, the understanding the limits of the Supreme National Security Council competence in the field of economic security is subject to this research. The research method is library-based and descriptive-analytical. The results indicate the special position of the Supreme National Security Council in the adoption of economic security decisions from the perspective of national security. It is not possible to violate or suspend economic principles enshrined in the constitution, but the Supreme National Security Council’s approvals are considered more important than the normal laws and parliament does not have the possibility of violating, amending or stopping its approvals.
