A Critique of Transformation in University Teaching: Face to Face Teaching to Online Education During Covid-19 Pandemic: A Case of Arabic Syntax at Kharazmi University

Abstract:
The statistical population of the study included 40 students at the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at Kharazmi University. Data were collected through structured interviews and analyzed by ATLAS TI software. The results showed that students referred to minimized quality of teaching, lack of learners’ class participation, weak teacher-learner interaction, lack of technical infrastructures (e.g. internet connection) as major problems with online teaching. Learners also expressed that permanent availability of lessons, and saving time were advantages of online learning. As for teacher-learner relationship, the learners believed that in online teaching the teachers were responsible for using appropriate teaching methods in online teaching and proper presentation of lessons and learners were supposed to attend online classroom and have active participation in discussions.
