Structural Relationship between Destructive Leadership and Job Stress with Deviant Behaviors

Abstract:

The main purpose of this research was to study the chain relationships between destructive leadership, job stress and deviant behaviors. The study was correlational and the target populations included all employees of the Isfahan Research and Natural Education Center in the spring 1395, out of which 428 employees were selected 210 through convenience sampling method. The research instruments consisted of destructive leadership questionnaire (Golparvar, 2011), deviant behaviors questionnaire (Bennett & Robinson، 2000), and job stress questionnaire (Lambert, Hogan, Griffen, 2007). The data were analyzed with use of Structural Equation Model (SEM) and the results revealed that there were significant chain relationships between destructive leadership, job stress and deviant behaviors (p<0/05). Moreover, there are positive significant relationship between destructive leadership with job stress and job stress with deviant behaviors (p<0/001). According to the findings, it is concluded that destructive leadership causes job stress and job stress results in deviant behaviors among the employees.
