Abstract:
When it comes to myth, we all think of strange creatures and myths, including dragons, that have playd an important rol in the sociological field of diferent nations in the past. A demonic and evil creature that has hadsignificant presence in many mythological and cultural beliefs of different nations. The aim of this researcher in this article is to study the sociology of dragon body in Ferdosi Shahname and Iranian epic texts. The research method is descriptive-analytical and based on library studies. The result of this study shows that in the culture of Iranian society in ancient times, the dragon is a symbol of evil and in the mythological culture of almost all nations, including Iran, has the property of being a sculptor and acording to its conditions and time can Transform other beings, which is a sociologically important issue. Because in a society whose culture is based on mythological culture, this issue can reflect its mythological vision in relation to human society. The dragon itself is transformed from a snake and in epic texts, it usually turns into a human in the role of Zahak, a black cloud, Fereydun and Jamshid. This evil creature has almost nothing to do with destroying human beings in almost all societies except China. In some cases, it distances itself from its demonic temperament and avoids harming human beings. However, the dragon in the culture and folk beliefs of Iran, which also interacts with society, is still going through the same demonic cours.
