Impact of Socio-Economic Base and Immigrant Entry on Social Capital of Citizens

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between migration and social capital of Semnan citizens and reviewing the related theoretical approaches. The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of migrants' entry on social capital. In addition, this process has been calculated based on the years of residence of citizens. Regarding the previous researches and controversies about the impact of immigrants on the migratory regions, this variable has been selected as a variable affecting the movement process of the community and determining the social indicators of the communities. The method of this research is survey and the statistical population of the citizens is urban planners. 150 of them were selected by multi-stage cluster sampling to complete the questionnaires. The results obtained by using different parametric and nonparametric tests indicate a direct relationship between immigration and social capital. It was also determined that the years of residence of citizens have a direct and strong relationship with the variable of social capital, and the more people in the host city will have a higher social capital. Finally, there are suggestions for increasing the social capital of citizens, especially immigrants
