Investigating Lay Outing Principles of Tram Lines in Historical Area in relation to Urban Catalyst Project (Case Study: Region 12 of Tehran)
Planning and implementing of urban catalyst approach is one of the strategies used to provide necessary platforms in development of regeneration flow and infill development in central and historical parts of cities. In this regard, the implementation of public transit projects such as tram lines is considered as one of urban catalyst tools in urban historical areas. This applied research seeks to explain and prioritize tram line lay outing criteria in relation to urban catalyst project. The present study is descriptive-analytical and uses Fuzzy Network Analysis (FANP) method to evaluate the criteria. For this purpose, the historical context of region 12 of Tehran, despite its valuable historical potential was selected in the center of the old city of Tehran. After evaluating the findings, it could be said that reducing environmental pollution has been recognized as the most important criterion among the research criteria. Also, development of public transit and priority of pedestrian access were placed in the next criteria ranks. Furthermore, education was selected as the least important criteria. This is while that contrary to popular belief, attracting capital does not play a significant role in urban catalyst projects and it placed in 7th rank.
