Public Cooperation in Preventing Crimes: Impediments and Conflicts

Cooperative crime policy as one of the crime policies developed a lot in recent decade. One the foundation of this policy that differs it from other ones is public cooperation which means opening up the doors of penal justice system to civil society and the agents. Among the active agents we can mention people oriented agents that have the structure of their own and are constructed from volunteer cooperation of society’s people to gain the aims with predestined targets. But the important issue here is to identify and understand the concept of cooperation and to create a coherent, constructive and real connection between the people of the society on one hand, and the agents of penal justice system on the other hand.

The scale and the method of civil agents and people cooperation with penal justice system and vice versa, have a close connection with culture and ruling political system. In Iran, there is such an issue. The issues above are effective in decrease (not development) both between people and agents and between penal law makers of the country.

In this article, we try to suggest some alternatives to develop the public cooperative culture in Iran’s penal policy-on the whole to clarify the performance of people oriented organizations and public cooperation in preventing the crimes and the features of real cooperation.
