Evaluation of public transportation system (special line) based on satisfaction and priorities of passengers (case study: special line bus of Rasht)
Today in the field of traffic engineering, the analysis and evaluation of the performance of public transportation systems is of great importance. So far, in some cities of Iran, the bus system has not been well-functioning, and many management practices such as the allocation of special lines, scheduled bus schedules, which are needed to improve the system's efficiency, have not been sufficiently considered. The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors affecting the use of urban buses by citizens in public transportation in Rasht city and especially their satisfaction with the special line of Imam Khomeini Street. To this end, the strengths and weaknesses of this route were determined by various field studies and traffic impressions from the special line of Imam Khomeini. Also, by collecting two questionnaires and removing 84 samples (first questionnaire) and 374 samples (second questionnaire), we evaluated the satisfaction of the citizens and business people on the boundary line of the special line of the bus-center of Imam Khomeini. The results showed that about 95% of businesses in this area believed that the construction of a special line led to a decrease in their income. Despite the lack of facilities, poorly designed facilities, and the lack of the fleet of the bus system, the special line of Imam Khomeini enjoyed high satisfaction among the citizens.
