The police, in political and legal systems, is one of the most important institutions of public governance by the ruling power of society. Today, the police are formally, based on specific competencies, the tools of governments to ensure and ensure lasting security in society and to combat crime and behavioral disorders. This imposes important missions on the police. In traditional Islamic jurisprudence, we do not encounter the word police and basically the institution of policing is one of the innovations of Western customary law. In this article, while examining the definition of police in customary law, the institution of Hasbeh in traditional Islamic jurisprudence and its similarity with the police institution in customary law today is examined. The function of the police in protecting civil rights has also been examined. The type of this research is fundamental and its approach is descriptive-analytical, its method is library study and the data collection tool in it is taking notes.
