Covid 19 and the increase in conflict in the family ?!

During the Coronavirus quarantine, according to reports in various news agencies, the number of disputes between couples has increased. In order to explain this situation, the research findings show that the current trend is the result of value and attitude changes in Iranian society over the past decades. From the perspective of values approach in sociology, there are two perspectives to explain the occurrence of conflicts and differences between couples, one emphasizing the conflict of values between men and women and the other on the high speed of normative changes that do not allow a suitable norm in society. According to the author, there can be a third approach and it is the value agreement that the similarity of values between men and women causes differences and conflicts between them in the family institution. This similarity in values goes back to having the values of modernity in the minds of men and women. It is true that men and women have the same value here, but the value of modernity emphasizes freedom, self-centeredness, Righteousness and equality, and individuality, monotheism and independenc which is in conflict with the values of the family institution, which is a collective institution that emphasizes the Task-oriented and division of sexual role and collective responsibility and collectivism. In this situation, couples with similar values are not able to tolerate the values of the family institution, which is a collective and traditional institution, and as a result, they are in conflict with each other.
