Analysis of Iran's geopolitical position in energy transfer projects from the Caspian Sea basin in terms of its impact on the geoeconomic development of Central Asia and the Caucasus
This article tries to answer the basic question using the descriptive-analytical approach that the geopolitical position (political geography) of Iran in the plans to transfer reserves and energy resources from the Caspian Sea (Caspian Sea) and geoeconomic development (or dimension). What is the geopolitical position of Central Asia (Central Asia) and the Caucasus? The results show that Iran, due to its special geopolitical position (political geography) can play a transit role and connect these countries to open waters and Europe. In other words, Iran, due to its geographical location (natural and human), is an undeniable suitable option for transferring oil and gas from the newly independent countries of Central Asia to consumer markets. In addition to the opportunities it offers Iran, these issues have posed challenges for Iran, such as the presence of the United States and Israel in the region. Westerners are well aware that the southern route to Iran is the only route that can transport the oil and gas Europe needs without having to cross the Russian border. But as long as the differences between Iran and the United States continue, it seems that the United States will prevent the transfer of energy from the Caspian Sea basin through Iran, as well as lines such as Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan that do not cross Iran and Russia. Will be supported by the United States.
