Emotional disorder is one of the main causes of problem behaviors such as bullying during adolescence. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of a designed program based on emotion regulation on bullying behaviors of adolescent bullying students.
The method of the present study is quasi-experimental with control group and a follow-up stage. The research community includes all female students studying in the first secondary course of Tehran in the academic year 2019-2020. Available samples were used to select the sample. 30 of them were randomly assigned to 2 groups of 15 experimental and control. Data collection tools were the Illinois Bullying Questionnaire (2001), the Achenbach Behavioral Problems (1991), and the Cicchetti Emotion Regulation (1998). Data were analyzed by multivariate analysis of covariance and analysis of covariance with repeated measures in SPSS software version 24.
Results showed that the mean scores of bullying post-test in the experimental and control groups were significantly different (P <0.05), which indicates the positive effect of the program.
