Determining the role of motivation levels and time perspective on purposefulness mediated by hope in students

The aim of this study was to determine the role of motivation levels and time perspective on purposefulness mediated by hope in students.

In terms of purpose, it is descriptive and correlational, which includes the predictor variables of motivation levels and time perspective, the variable of purposefulness in life and the mediating variable of hope, and the data were analyzed using multiple regression. The statistical population included the students of Quds City Azad University and 200 students were selected from the population for the Green Formula by available sampling method. The research instruments were SIMS Motivation Level Questionnaires (McInry & Sinclair, 1992), Meaning in MLQ Life (Steger, 2010), Time Vision (Zimbardo and Boyd, 1999), Midwari (Snyder et al., 1991), whose validity was based on According to experts, their reliability was evaluated and confirmed based on Cronbach's alpha coefficient.

The research findings showed that the variables of motivation levels, time perspective (positive past, futuristic, transcendent future) on purposefulness mediated by hope have significant relationships with each other.

Each of the variables of motivation levels, time perspective and hope alone have a significant effect on purposefulness at the level of life (p <0.005). Finally, the results of path analysis showed that hope played a mediating role at the level (p <0.005).
