Investigating the factors affecting the traffic in the central part of Urmia

Today, the rapid physical growth and development of cities has caused significant changes in their physical and functional quality, and as a result, has raised new problems, problems and needs in the field of urban planning. Among these problems, improper distribution of land use. Urban services such as land uses and commercial centers can be mentioned, which has led to an increase in urban travel and as a result, increased traffic and inefficiency of the urban transportation system. This study aims to investigate the factors affecting traffic. The central part of Urmia was done. The research method is descriptive-analytical and for descriptive data, field survey and questionnaire have been used in 2022. In this research, SPSS software was used for data analysis and GIS software was used for map analysis. The results showed that the purpose of the trip was more visitors to shopping centers with 57.8%, which indicates that commercial uses have the greatest impact on traffic in the central part of the city and attract travel due to the adoption of plans Couple and individual traffic It is always observed that people use personal means of transportation when meeting their necessities and shopping.
