Assessing University Agility Using IPA Model (Case Study: Ardakan University)
Agility as a new paradigm in today’s business showed the universities their need for adopting the changes and challenges. If universities cannot adopt changes rapidly, they will fail in competition and will be deleted during time or will not have their initial efficiency. In this paper, a model is presented to assess the importance and performance of different agility aspects. To analyze the results, after calculating the importance and performance of agility aspects, the IPA matrix is used to find the position of these aspects and the strengths and weaknesses of agility in university. This model as a case study is used in Ardakan University and the results are analyzed. To assess agility, a questionnaire is used and the opinions of faculty members and employees are gathered. The results showed that these two groups have not a significant difference. Analysis of the information about importance and performance of different agility aspects and their position in IPA matrix have been discussed. Finally, strengths, weaknesses and the subjects that don’t have priority for improvement have been analyzed and suggestions for managers are proposed.
