THE RELATIONSHIP OF RESILIENCE WITH QUALITY OF LIFE AND LIFE EXPECTANCY OF THE MOTHERS OF DEAF CHILDREN
Quality of life and life expectancy of mothers of deaf children are important issues. This study was conducted to determine the relationship of resilience with quality of life and life expectancy of the mothers of deaf children in Shahrbabak.
The research method was correlational and the statistical population of this study was all 120 mothers of deaf children in Shahr-e Babak in 2010. Sampling was by convenience sampling method and all mothers were selected as the sample group. Data collection tools included the WHO Scales of Hope, Resilience, and Short Quality of Life forms. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation and regression by SPSS-21 software.
The results showed that there is a significant positive relationship between resilience and quality of life of deaf mothers and quality of life with life expectancy of deaf mothers. There is also a significant positive relationship between resilience and life expectancy of deaf children (P≤0.01).
To increase life expectancy and improve the quality of life of mothers with deaf children, it is necessary to educate and informing them correctly in order to identify vulnerabilities so they got more productive steps in their lives and continuity of the family.
