Investigating the effect of social capital on sustainable urban development in Bushehr
This article explains social capital and its indicators on sustainable urban development in Bushehr. For this purpose, a combination of theories of sustainable urban development of Sherry Ernstein, David Driskell and Scott Davidson and the social capital of Bourdieu and Putnam was used as a theoretical framework. The research method is survey and the statistical population is over 18 years old in Bushehr. The sampling method is multi-stage cluster and the sample size according to Cochran's formula is 384 people. Data collection tool is a researcher-made questionnaire. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient, path analysis and regression analysis using SPSS software. Formal credit was used to measure credit and the alpha value of sustainable urban development is 0.883 and social capital is 0.892 which have the necessary reliability.Descriptive findings of the study showed that the variable status of social capital is moderate and the index of sustainable urban development and all its dimensions (economic sustainability, social sustainability, environmental sustainability, physical sustainability and institutional sustainability) are relatively high (more than 40%). findings showed that Pearson correlation coefficient between the amount of social capital of citizens and sustainable urban development is equal to 0.286. That is, the more social capital, the higher the rate of sustainable urban development, and conversely, the less social capital, the lower the rate of sustainable urban development. A positive and significant relationship can be seen between the dimensions of social capital and sustainable urban development.
