A Meta-Analysis of the Research Methodologies of Articles Published in the “Social Capital Management” Journal From 2014 to 2020
This article investigated the research methodologies of the articles published in the “Social Capital Management” journal. In terms of purpose, the study was an applied research project, and it used library research for data collection purposes. The statistical population of the study regarded all articles of the “Social Capital Management” journal published between 2014 and 2020. No sampling was used in the study, and all population members were taken into account in the study. All in all, 177 articles were inspected in terms of 9 parameters, namely distribution of the number of articles in each volume, data collection instrument, data analysis method, research approach, research method, research domain, the number of authors of each article, the academic field of each corresponding author, and the academic affiliation of each corresponding author. The obtained results showed that university professors and students with public management degrees have had the highest rate of publication. In terms of corresponding authors’ academic affiliation, researchers from the University of Tehran and Islamic Azad University have been the most publications in this journal. The most common topics have been social capital, religion, and Islamic teachings. Moreover, it was found that the majority of articles have been descriptive-analytical with a quantitative approach. The research method of most examined articles has been structural equation modeling. Finally, the top data collection instrument has been questionnaire.
