Abstract:

This paper is about the design of two direct solar box cookers. One is equipped with a Dobson pitch and cone reflector and the other with a moving reflector and fixed plate. Their performance is assessed compared with a simple cooker. Apart from adding radiation reflecting plates into the inside, the outside part is also covered with these plates. The Dobson pitch gives the control of radiation into the box. Besides, changing the plates angle to reach the optimum increases this control. After the in-depth planning phase, these two cookers are manufactured. In early September, they can raise water temperature from 20 to 80 Centigrade in 30000 seconds. The one with the Dobson pitch and cone reflector could go higher because of its more reflecting areas than its whole area.Key Words: Solar Box Cooker, Reflecting Plate, Cone Reflector, Higher Efficiency, Faster CookingDesign and Construction of Two Solar Box Cookers
