A Suggested Model for Teaching the Course of Educational Philosophy of Islam at Farhngiyān University

The purpose of the present study is to present a suggested model for teaching the course of educational philosophy of Islam at Farhangiyān university. The method of study is descriptive-analytic and the results showed that the general objectives of the course of Educational Philosophy of Islam is that students can understand the most important theoretical foundations and components of Islamic educational system well, form their personal educational philosophy as an intellectual and practical framework to perform in different educational situations, and evaluate the existing educational facts in the country based on Islamic foundations and principles. The arrangement of the above-mentioned general objectives and developing the contents in line with those objectives should be based on cognitive, emotional, and mental-dynamic stages. As for teaching strategies, it was determined that pre-study and individual research, explanation along with question and answer by the professor, and if needed, group discussion and doing learning activities related to any discussion through individual or group participation inside or outside the class can be effective. Furthermore, in order to recognize how much students-teachers have achieved the objectives of the course, it is suggested to use summative and formative evaluation, work folder, as well as the judgements and observations by the teacher.
