The role of maladaptive schemas in predicting worry and death anxiety in people with generalized anxiety disorder
This research was carried out with the aim of the role of incompatible schemas in prediction with regard to the mediator role of the disease in patients with widespread disease. The current research was based on the objective of the fundamental type and based on the method of data collection, it was a descriptive research of the correlation type. The statistical population of the research was the clients who came to Urmia city with symptoms of psychiatric, psychological and counseling diseases, and 217 people were selected by sampling method. The measurement tools included the Early Maladaptive Schemas Questionnaire (Young and Brown 1994), the Pennsylvania Worry Questionnaire (Mayer et al., 1990) and the Death Risk Questionnaire (Templer, 1970). To answer the correlation method, multiple regression path analysis is used simultaneously. The research results showed that there is a significant relationship between incompatible schemas with worry and death worry (p<0.05). There is a significant relationship between the risk of death (p<0.05). There is a mediating role of death in the relationship between incompatible schemas with a significant relationship (r = 0.137, t=2.59). Also, according to the regression results, 43.1% of the variance of worry was explained by incompatible schemas and death.
