Representing the basics of Joseph Campbell hero's journey in the story "Khalil Kafer"
The evolution and journey of the hero is based on the perspective of Joseph Campbell, a comparative mythologist (1904-1987), and is formed in such a way that the protagonist, who is busy with his daily life, starts the adventure after hearing the call of the invitation, and with Role-playing sets foot on the road of a difficult test and goes through steps to reach a high goal. Along the way, he reaches self-knowledge with the help of old age, and after returning to normal life, he consciously and persistently sets helping others as an example in his life. The present research aims to investigate Joseph Campbell's plan known as "The Myth of the One" in the story of Khalil Kafir by Gibran Khalil Jibran (1883-1931) by using the descriptive-analytical method, and by examining the features of this theory in the story Measure the conformity of the development process of the hero's personality with the model provided by Campbell. The findings of the research show that the journey of the hero of the story is consistent with Campbell's model, and Khalil, as a unique legend, overcomes the challenges of life and gains a new understanding of the world in his social behavior with love for fellow human beings. find Considering the experiences of his personal life and the issues of the society, with the knowledge of the true teachings of Christ (pbuh), he achieves a new understanding of the existence and creation of man, and Zain, by breaking the power of the demagogic lords of the church, While overcoming problems, he finally reaches perfection and becomes the master of two worlds.
