Investigating the Role of Parenting Styles in Predicting Students' Mental Health Through the Mediation of Spiritual Intelligence

The purpose of this research is to investigate the role of parenting styles in predicting the mental health of students through the mediation of spiritual intelligence in the number of 200 students studying in the second half of 2019-400 in the second period of high school in Dehlran city. Non-random samples were done by descriptive method and by correlation method and regression coefficient. To examine parenting, Bamrind's 30-item questionnaire (1990), spiritual intelligence from Abdullahzadeh and Arab Ameri's 24-item questionnaire (1387), and Goldberg's (1972) 28-item questionnaire for mental health were used. Investigating the role of parenting styles in predicting spiritual intelligence and mental health of students showed: There is a positive and significant relationship between authoritative style and spiritual intelligence. There is a positive and significant relationship between authoritative style and mental health. There is an inverse relationship between the free-flowing style and spiritual intelligence. There is a positive and significant relationship between free-flowing style and mental health. There is an inverse relationship between authoritarian style and spiritual intelligence. There is an inverse relationship between authoritarian style and mental health. According to the research findings, it can be concluded that parenting styles and spiritual intelligence play a role in predicting the mental health of their children.
