Organizational culture is a set of assumptions, including values and beliefs that the employees of the organization discover and develop when confronting issues in order to achieve internal unity and cohesion. The purpose of this study was to analyze and present a conceptual model of organizational culture components in Iranian non-governmental schools.
After studying articles and books related to organizational culture, and conducting in-depth qualitative interviews and performing a systematic process of recording and analyzing data, the components of organizational culture were identified using the Delphi method. The sampling method was stratified purposive and the statistical population of the study consisted of 15 experts (professors and experts) in the field of organizational culture who were interviewed through snowball method until the theoretical saturation of the data was achieved in order to prevent dispersal of opinions.
It included 7 main categories (educational system; school principal's leadership style; teachers' professional culture; students' culture; community and family culture; educational equipment and space and textbook content) and 58 sub-categories of organizational culture in non-governmental schools.
The results of this study indicated that in Iranian non-governmental schools, the presence of a capable principal who is familiar with the components of organizational culture can cause the emergence of creativity and new educational ideas and optimal implementation of educational tasks in accordance with regulations and instructions, while establishing friendly relations among employees and emphasizing teamwork.
