Abstract:

The present study was conducted with the aim of determining the relationship between emotional regulation and perfectionism in students. The statistical population of this research includes all the students of Tehran city in 1400. Using Morgan's table for an unlimited population, the number of sample members is considered to be 384 and they were selected as multi-stage cluster sampling. The main data of this research was obtained by using the emotional regulation questionnaire of Garnevsky et al. (2001) and the perfectionism questionnaire of Hill et al. (2004). Descriptive statistics (central indices, dispersion) and inferential statistics of Pearson's correlation coefficient and multivariate regression were used in data analysis. The results of the research, through correlation and regression tests, indicated that emotional regulation is related to perfectionism in teenagers. Also, the results show that emotional regulation has the ability to predict perfectionism and among the dimensions of emotional regulation, the factors of blaming others, acceptance and positive re-evaluation are able to predict perfectionism.
