Substantiating the Sacred Nature of Man based on Allamah Tabatabaei’s View on Fall of Adam

Good, evil, or neutrality of human nature has been among the important anthropological underpinnings. Holding belief in human natural instinct, self-love, the tendency toward perfection, and avoidance of imperfection, Allamah Tabatabaei believes that human is naturally inclined toward good. However, the current research intends to analyze this view from a new perspective. The departure point of this innovative attempt is the commentary of Allamah on the issue of the creation and fall of Adam. Allamah believes that facts such as succession, the breath of the divine spirit, prostration of angels, Teaching of the names, residence in paradise, and fall are not only particular to Adam but to humankind due to Man’s existential structure. Thus, the view of Allmah on the quality of fall is primarily discussed and then, the reasonings that emerged from this anthropological analysis substantiating the goodness of human instinct are explained. The method of this research was descriptive-analytical.
