The Geopolitical Position of Syrian Kurdistan and the Role of Regional and Extra-Regional Actors
The emergence of the crisis in Syria created a suitable opportunity for this country to find a new position by using the power vacuum inside and support from outside, and they can be more powerful, cohesive, and organized to play a role in the developments in Syria. The deterioration of the control of the central government due to the involvement in the bloody conflicts of the opponents of the government and entering the region to these conflicts provides suitable conditions for the Syrian Kurds to redefine their position in the Syrian political system. The region influences the situation of the Kurds in Syria and other countries, where the role of the region has influenced their behavior. Different programs with different concepts and motivations have played a role. Now the question is whether this research is about the importance of the Kurdistan region from the geopolitical point of view for regional and extra-regional actors? And in response to this hypothesis, it has been proposed that "the formation of an autonomous or independent region is from a geopolitical point of view in Spykman's sphere, Spykman's peripheral geopolitics, Geoffrey Camp's energy geopolitics and Heartland". These geopolitical theories should be used to determine the positions of Syria. The results of the research show that it can be effective in terms of its geopolitical conditions and the presence of other influential factors.
