The relationship between mass media and family values (Case of study: 15-29 year old youth ofShahrekord)
The family in Iran is one of the most important social institutions, which is rapidly changing andtransforming under the influence of several factors, including mass media. The present article tries to investigatethe significance of the relationship between mass media and the family values of the youth and in this regard, todetermine whether the family values of the youth tend towards traditional values or modern values? Thetheoretical framework of the current research is a combination of planting theory, dependence theory,application and gratification theory. Using the survey method and a sample size equal to 382 people, thecollected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Kramer's coefficient and regression equation. theresults show that family values Most of the young people (about 75%) tend towards modern values. Also, thecoefficient (beta) shows that the most effective in predicting the tendency of young people towards family valuesis related to their dependence on the media (beta=.192) and the least effective is related to the type of programsthey use (beta=.058).
