Determining the level of hospital risk in Mashhad by the method of safety and occupational health assessment in the hospital
Hospitals are one of the most important organizations in the healthcare system. Risk assessment is a tool to control risks and hazard management in the hospital is useful for reducing the risk of risks and reducing the frequency of hospital accidents. This study was conducted in order to evaluate the safety and health risk of the hospital using the HOSHRA method.
This cross-sectional study was conducted in 32 departments in a medical teaching hospital in Mashhad in 1401. The data was collected using the HOSHRA checklist and analyzed using the HOSHRA method formulas.
The highest score was obtained in the area of ergonomic hazards(102/8) and the lowest score was related to the area of physical agents(67/28) in the hospital. Except for the score of the ergonomics area, the scores of the physical, chemical, psychological, and biological areas were at the medium risk level, and the ergonomics area was at an acceptable level.
This study showed that ergonomic hazards are at an acceptable level, which requires continuous monitoring. And on the other hand, chemical, ergonomic, psychological, physical, and biological risks are not acceptable at the risk level and need more reforms in the future.
