The Role of Social Networks in Breaking the Media Monopoly of Governments from the Perspective of Social Communication Theorists
Communication technology has seen tremendous growth. These developments have important implications for both communication and social relations. The information and communication revolution promises a big leap forward. Anyone with the least opportunity, including a mobile phone, can play a role in influencing the communication space and breaking the flow of information. According to communications experts, social networking has shaped concepts such as intimacy and trust in cyberspace, concepts that in near past has been a dream to achieve them. This shift in the communications world raises many questions, including what will be the social and cultural impact of the new media? What are the consequences of the emergence of new media and social media? What impact will new communication tools have on the formal communications process?Therefore, in the present paper, the researcher, using a descriptive-documentary approach, analyzes and examines the role of social networks in breaking the media monopoly of governments from the perspective of social communication theorists.
