teenagers and identity formation, norms of Tatality digital subculture

Putting the issue of teenagers and the Celebrity Culture as the main idea, this study aims at investigating the ways of identity formation in Iranian teenagers marked by an enthusiast for Amir Tataloo. In this regard, a semi-structured interview was conducted with a sample including 16 teenagers who are administering fan pages of Amir Tataloo on the Instagram social network; the gathered data was then analyzed by the MAXQDA software. The results showed that Amir Tataloo fans, as members of a digital subculture, have group norms such as supporting Tataloo and not denying the “Tatality” identity, respecting different tastes, following individualism and a hopeful life towards the future and finally following the Tataloo’s lifestyle. furthermore, by examining the most frequent themes in the interviewees’ responses, three important communicative principles of Amir Tataloo, which have influenced the production and reproduction of the Tatality identity, have been discussed.
