Abstract:

This study aimed to analyze Barack Obama's doctrine and foreign policy in the Middle East and West Asia from the perspective of critics. The research method was descriptive-analytical. The results showed that the record of eight years of Obama's presidency can be considered a manifestation of his worldview as a Democratic president. A quick look at Obama's campaign slogans and promises clearly shows that he had two missions for his administration from the beginning; First, to improve the US economic situation, and second, to improve its image in the world. Obama spent the life of his administration trying to resolve regional crises in a way other than war while pulling the United States out of the two abysses of Iraq and Afghanistan.  Mentioning the nuclear deal with Iran as an honor in Obama's record is the satisfaction of the global superpower not to get involved in a new war in the Middle East. The US government's response to the ISIS crisis also well illustrates the claim that the United States has no desire or ability to engage in military conflict in regional crises.
