Analysis of the effects of the Covid-19 crisis on the Iran tourism industry

Abstract:
Despite the fact that tourism was facing a growing and positive trend in the world and has made significant economic progress in tourist destinations, this progress has been hampered by the incidence of some crises and negative events. Crises such as floods, earthquakes, pandemic outbreaks are an unprecedented threat to the tourism industry.The present study tries to investigate the challenging effects of COVID-19 on Iran's tourism industry and to present scenarios for tourism behavior after passing through this crisis and the action of tourism operators in the post-Corona era and in the horizon of 1405. The research method was descriptive-analytical and survey using content analysis, Delphi method and scenario writing. The results show that COVID-19 has devastating and irreparable effects on Iran's tourism industry and the decision to travel domestic and foreign tourists and their understanding of the current situation and finally, three scenarios of golden, black and white and critical towards the future of tourism in Iran were proposed in the horizon of 1405.
