The relationship of parenting patterns of parents with social adjustment of second-grade high school students

Abstract:

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship of parenting patterns of parents with social adjustment of second-grade high school students in Lamard. The study pupulation consisted of all second-grade high school students in Lamard. The census sampling method was used to determine sample considered that accordingly, 80 students were selected as sample.The instrument used in this study consisted of two standard questionnaires, parenting style questionnaire of Baumrind (1991) and social adjustment of Bell (1961), respectively.The validity of questionnaires based on experts opinion and their reliability was calculated and evaluted based on Cronbach's alpha coefficient for the questionnaire of parenting style 0.809 and social adjustment of Bell 0.944 which is indicative of the desired reliability of the questionnaire of survey. In this study, Pearson correlation test is used. The results of this study showed that there is a significant relationship between parentiung patterns of parents and social adjustment of second-grade high school students.
