Challenges of attracting international students: an experience for Iranian universities (review of past researches)

Abstract:
The present study was conducted with the aim of identifying the challenges of attracting international students using the method of meta-composite research. This research is practical in terms of purpose and qualitative in terms of approach. The data collection method in this research is based on documentary information and the data collection tool is past documents and documents, which includes 37 articles. In the research, 80 articles published in reliable domestic and foreign scientific-research databases were found as a statistical population, which were searched with keywords and other self-basic concepts in reliable databases and search engines. The time range of 1385 to 1400 was considered for keyword search. In terms of sampling, 37 related studies were selected using a targeted approach. The basis of validity of this research was the opinion of experts and its validity was confirmed through Cohen's Kappa test. The results of the analysis showed that the most important challenges of accepting international students include: inappropriate cultural infrastructure, political, security and information issues, lack of validity of academic degrees, inappropriate educational content for international students, managerial and structural weakness, administrative issues and problems of universities. According to the results of this research and the use of its results in order to attract international students in Iran, we should be able to raise the scientific rank of Iranian universities at the international level by changing the procedures and structures for the admission of foreign students and advertising in the matter of attracting foreign students. So that foreign students accept it and by promoting international language, we provide better and easier ways of communication for foreign students so that they feel more comfortable among students, professors and staff.
