Predicting Psychological Well-Being and Psychological Cohesion Based on Mindfulness and Emotion Regulation Strategies with the Mediating Role of Resilience of the Women on the Verge of Divorce in Isfahan City in 2023: A Descriptive Study
Women on the verge of divorce are exposed to psychological problems. This research was conducted with the aim of determining the predictors of psychological well-being and psychological cohesion based on mindfulness and emotion regulation strategies with the mediating role of resilience of the women on the verge of divorce in Isfahan City in 2023.
The research was descriptive and correlational. The statistical population included all the women referred to counseling centers in Isfahan City in 2023, and 302 people were selected as the research sample using convenience sampling method. The participants responded to Gross and John's Emotion Regulation Strategy Questionnaire, Bather's Five-Faceted Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ), Ryff's Psychological Well-Being, Flensburg-Madsen's Psychological Coherence, and Connor and Davidson 's Resilience. Data were analyzed using Pearson's correlation test and structural equations modeling.
The results showed that there was a significant difference between mindfulness (p<0.001, β=0.74), emotion regulation strategies (p=0.033, β=0.11) and resilience (p<0.001, β=0.36) and psychological well-being; Mindfulness (β=0.13, p<0.001), emotion regulation strategies (β=0.56, p<0.001) and resilience (β=0.39, p<0.001) and mental coherence; And also mindfulness (p=0.028, β=0.06) and emotion regulation strategies (p=0.022, β=0.45) and resilience. There was also a significant positive relationship between mindfulness, emotion regulation strategies and psychological well-being and psychological cohesion with the mediating role of resilience (p<0.05).
It appears that resilience plays an important role in the relationship between mindfulness and emotion regulation strategies and psychological well-being and psychological cohesion of women on the verge of divorce. It is recommended to try to increase the psychological well-being, psychological cohesion, and resilience of women by holding family education classes.
