Preliminary Investigation of the Factor Structure of "Psychological Changes of Nurses and Coping Strategies in Corona Periods" scale using classical test theory
The aim of the present study was to investigate the factorial structure of the measuring scale "Nurses' mental health and strategies to deal with it during the Corona period" using the classical theory of measurement. The research method was based on psychometric methods (factor analysis) and the tool used was the researcher-made scale of psychological changes of nurses and coping strategies during the Corona period (1401). The community of nurses of Corona hospitals in Tehran and the statistical sample was 304 nurses who were selected by simple random method. The method of data analysis was exploratory factor analysis in examining the factor structure, and Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used in the validity examination, which was 0.78. The findings showed that the factor structure obtained during the exploratory analysis consists of 3 factors (coping strategies and positive emotions, negative emotions caused by the work environment and individual negative emotions). The results showed that this scale has a factorial structure and acceptable validity among the nurses of Corona hospitals in Tehran; Therefore, this tool can be tested on a larger sample level in order to confirm the discovered factor structure, so that if the current structure is confirmed, it can be used as a valid tool to evaluate the psychological changes of nurses and coping strategies during the Corona period. It was used among the nurses of the country's hospitals.
