The effectiveness of Spiritual-religious psychotherapy on psychological Security and Marital Adjustment of Married Students
Marital compatibility is one of the most important factors in determining the stability and durability of a marital relationship, so the present study was conducted with the aim of determining the effectiveness of spiritual-religious psychotherapy on the psychological security and marital compatibility of married students.
The present research was a semi-experimental pre-test-post-test type with a control group; the research population included all male and female married students of Azad University of Rudhan in the academic year of 2022-2023. 30 people from the studied population were selected by available sampling method and were randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups. The data collection tools included Maslow's (1952) psychological security and Locke and Wallace's (1959) marital adjustment questionnaires. The experimental group was formed for 10 sessions, two 90-minute sessions of spiritual-religious psychotherapy training per week; but during this period, no training was held for the control group and they were on the waiting list. To analyze the data, univariate analysis of covariance was used with SPSS version 24 software.
Based on the comparison of the pre-test and post-test of the two groups, the findings showed that spiritual-religious psychotherapy had a significant effect on the psychological security and marital adjustment of married students (P ≥ 0.01).
Spiritual-religious psychotherapy can lead to the improvement of psychological security and marital compatibility of married students.
