The present study was conducted with the aim ofinvestigating the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapybased on the adaptive cat model on the emotional andacademic emotions of adolescent girls with clinical symptomsof post-traumatic stress.
The research method was semiexperimental with a pre-test-post-test design with a controlgroup, and the statistical population was all girls in the firstyear of high school in Zahedan city in 2021, who havecounseling files related to post-traumatic stress caused by thedeath of one of them in the counseling centers. were firstdegree relatives due to Corona, and among them, 20 peoplewere selected by purposeful sampling and after the pre-test,they were randomly replaced in two experimental groups andone control group. Subjects of experimental groups receivedadaptive cat cognitive behavioral therapy during 16 sessionsof 90 minutes based on the cognitive therapy package basedon Kendall and Hatke's adaptive cat model (2018) by theresearcher, and the control group did not receive anytreatment. The data collection tool was Pakran et al.'s (2002)academic emotions questionnaire, Watson, Clark and Telgen's(1988) positive and negative affect questionnaire. Dataanalysis was also done using single and multivariatecovariance statistical methods.
The findings showed that cognitive behavioraltherapy based on the adaptive cat model was effective on theacademic excitement and emotion of teenage girls withclinical symptoms of post-traumatic stress (caused by thedeath of a family member due to Corona).
Negative emotions are the result of somecognitive distortions, and these cognitive distortions maintainineffective thinking. Like overgeneralization, a person makesa general rule from a specific event and applies itinappropriately to other situations.
